Whole Family Wellbeing Support – Angus

Aberlour Whole Family Wellbeing Support is delivered in partnership with Angus Council. It is available to all pregnant women and their families throughout Angus. We work closely with midwives, health visitors, GPs, specialist perinatal teams and other local family support services to enhance what is available to families.

What we offer:

We offer support to pregnant women and their families during and after pregnancy, for as long as is needed. Support is tailored to suit your family's individual needs. It can take place in person, within the local community and via remote support.

We will work alongside you and your family at times that suit you, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

The support is tailored to meet your individual circumstances and may include:

  • Support to access local services, such as health services, shops, parks, etc. Transport to medical or other appointments.
  • Regular home visits/telephone/digital support on a day/time of your choosing
  • Opportunities to connect in person with other parents and babies
  • Practical/social/emotional/therapeutic support: to enhance parenting capacity towards baby and children
  • Advocacy: ensuring you and your family's voices are heard and you get the support you need
  • Linking families to other support: collaborating with Angus partners to enable you to access services such as health teams, ante/post-natal support, welfare rights, housing, and employability/training.
  • Developing communication skills: improving family dynamics and help your family develop coping strategies to build emotional wellbeing.
  • Community Connections - help to undertake sustainable community activities/engage with neighbourhood support/activity groups and resources. For example, befrienders, youth/wellbeing groups, and sports clubs to build confidence and reduce social isolation.

What to expect

Our Family Support Workers and Assistant Service Manager will visit you to discuss your current circumstances and get to know you better, including exploring what kind of support you think would benefit you and your family.

Once support has commenced the days and times of visits will be arranged when it will be most suitable for you and your family.
