The Angus Primary Years Wellbeing Service helps to support primary school aged children with their mental health. We offer 1-1 and group wellbeing support in schools to children in Angus aged 5-12 years and their parents/carers. Our focus is on children experiencing anxiety, low mood, behavioural and social difficulties. We aim to help build emotional resilience and improve children’s overall health and wellbeing. We deliver this service in partnership with The Mental Health Foundation and Angus Council.
How we help
We provide a variety of support at home, in schools, and in the community, including:
- Primary Years StressLess Toolkit Group Sessions: Designed by the Mental Health Foundation and our Wellbeing Support Workers, the programme offers engaging activities designed to foster mental health awareness, boost self-esteem and equip children with coping strategies.
- Additional 1-1 support to children and their families facing specific challenges.
- Connecting families to other agencies or community networks for more information and advice.
- Providing advice and training to school and multi-agency staff on children’s health and wellbeing.
- Delivering evidence-based programmes to improve mental health and wellbeing.
- Matching volunteer peer mentors for children and families.
