We offer respite care and support to families where a child or young adult has a disability.
We support children and young people with learning disabilities, autism, or more complex physical and health needs.
We assess, develop and provide care and support tailored to each individual child’s needs and interests, enabling families to get a rest from their caring role. We encourage the child to explore their interests by offering experiences and opportunities to develop skills, build relationships and have fun. Our support with young people can take place at home, in school or in the community.
For families who have a child or young person with additional or complex needs, the support provided can range from only a few hours to a much larger support package. Support can be provided out with the normal 9-5 and is available Monday – Sunday.
We recognise that parents and carers also need support. We work with them, so they feel more confident in their caring role, and this enables families to stay together. We can provide support to families to help them establish routines and help them identify coping strategies around every day living.
We also provide crisis response to support young people and their families where the young person is likely accommodated.
“The whole family are involved. We get very good support. Good members of staff – a laugh, friendly and I can trust them”.
