We make life easier for families where a child has a disability.
Our short breaks support service is available to children and young people with learning disabilities, autism, or more complex physical and health needs.
We offer a safe, homely environment for a child to come and stay for a short break that gives their families a rest from their caring role.
During their break, children enjoy a range of fun activities and experiences with our staff who specialise in taking care of children with disabilities. Our service is very much a ‘home from home’ for the children who stay with us there.
For the families, taking care of a child with a disability can be very demanding. It can mean having less time to focus on other children in the family, unsettled sleep and less time to relax and recuperate. Our specialist disability services are designed to take the weight off and provide a package of support that works for you.
Short breaks can range from a few hours to a more extended overnight stay.
We can also provide support for children in their own homes and in school. We run after-school care during the term time and organise play-schemes during the school holidays with activities based in the community. We can also offer support through parenting advice and emergency short-notice care.
