A family crisis can happen at any time. That’s why Aberlour’s Glasgow Family Support Service is there for families every day.
We provide a range of accessible, community-based family support projects to help disadvantaged children, young people and families living in Glasgow.
The families we work with need support for a range of reasons, such as poor emotional health and wellbeing, domestic abuse and drug and alcohol use. Our workers spend time with children, young people, parents and carers in order to understand what the family needs to thrive. We understand that family life can be difficult for all sorts of reasons. Our approach is always sympathetic and non-judgemental.
Our support is delivered 7 days a week in:
We work with children (aged 12 years and under) and their families to build skills, confidence and strengthen community connections. Our aim is to improve outcomes for families across Glasgow who need additional support. We provide support when they need it most including evenings and weekends. This is funded by the Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (GCHSCP). Referrals to this service must be made through Social Work.
Glasgow Intensive Family Support Service (GIFSS) is a partnership with HSCP and three other Third Sector organisations. The aim of the service is to support families where there is a child aged 12 years and over who is a risk of entering the care system. GIFSS is a community based citywide service which uses a strengths based approach, to understand the family dynamics and is underpinned by the Voice, Validation and Hope model. All referrals are made through HSCP.
In partnership with Shelter Scotland, the service helps mothers and their children in Glasgow who are or who have been subjected to domestic abuse. The service is funded by the Scottish Government’s Equally Safe Fund. Self referrals and agency referrals can be made directly to this service.

Youthpoint engages with children and young people either on the streets or at our weekly youth clubs in Govan, Elderpark and Pollok. At our clubs, we carry out group work to facilitate building positive relationships, resilience and community engagement. we also host holidays programmes to give young people opportunities/activities when they are not at school.
