A family crisis can happen at any time. That’s why Aberlour’s Sustain Service in The Scottish Borders is there for families every day.
We help struggling families to stay together, by giving them the help and support they need to prevent a child from being taken into care.
We help families on the ‘edge of care’ to stay together, by giving them the help and support they need to prevent a child from being taken into care.
The families we work with need support for a range of reasons, such as poor emotional health and wellbeing, domestic abuse and drug and alcohol use. Our workers spend time with children, young people, parents and carers in order to understand what the family needs to thrive. We understand that family life can be difficult for all sorts of reasons. Our approach is always sympathetic and non-judgemental.
The service responsive to need, providing support out with normal office hours. Because we understand the challenges our families face, we recognise they need support at all times of the day in the family home and in community settings.
The service is flexible in its intensity and aims to encourage the building of family routines, resilience and improve parental confidence.
All referrals come through The Scottish Borders Council.
