‘Wee Artists’ wanted

1 Jun 2022

Aberlour is looking for ‘Wee Artists’ to enter a competition to provide drawings for Scottish author Scott Fleming’s new children’s charity book, sales of which the charity will benefit from.

The book is part of a series of children’s books written by the up and coming author and is about how children view Scotland.

Instead of having professional illustrations, Scott wants to include children’s drawings on every page. He is looking for ‘Wee Artists’ and asking primary school children across Scotland for drawings of Nessie, mountains, castles, highland coos, thistles, bagpipers, unicorns, puffins and other Scottish inspired icons.

Aberlour and nine other Scottish children’s charities will receive an equal share of profits from sales of the book.

To enter, primary school children must ask an adult to like or follow one or both of Scott’s social media sites Instagram: scottfleming_author or Facebook: Scott Fleming Author
Adults are asked to take and submit a photograph of the drawings by 30th June 2022 to one of these social media sites. Winning entries will be featured in the book. For more details please click A4 Art Comp.

The book will be available through Amazon, social media, book fairs, craft fairs, school visits, selected book shops and Scott’s own website (soon to be launched).

Scott says: ”So far the response from primary children has been fantastic. The parents have loved the chance for their kids to get involved in an actual book and told me that the kids themselves have been drawing and creating more than they ever did. The charity book is likely to include over 100 drawings and will hopefully bring some focus and joy into the lives of those ‘Wee Artists’ who enter. At the same time it’s good to know that it will raise precious funds for ten worthy Scottish children’s charities.”
