Sainsbury’s Bank staff have celebrated raising more than £55,000 for Scotland’s children’s charity, Aberlour.
Chief Executive of the Edinburgh-based bank, Peter Griffiths, joined staff in a visit to one of the charity’s disability projects, Aberlour Options – Lothian, to mark the fundraising milestone.
The service, which offers respite breaks for children with disabilities, recently had a brand new kitchen installed, thanks to funds raised by the team.
The celebration comes at the end of an 18-month Charity of the Year partnership between Sainsbury’s Bank and Aberlour, in which they set out to raise £40,000.
Peter Griffiths, Chief Executive of Sainsbury’s Bank, said: “I am delighted that we exceeded our original target and raised over £55,000 for Aberlour. It was great to see so many colleagues volunteer to help the charity in practical ways by painting and decorating, as well as raising money from our flagship Spring Ball, abseiling down the Forth Bridge and taking part in a variety of fundraising activities.”
