6 Jan 2020

MorganWhat would it be like if one of Aberlour’s young people became Chief Executive for the week? This week, Morgan is finding out.

With her distinct blue hair, Morgan is the face of Aberlour’s current #NoBadEnds campaign that has highlighted young people growing up in Scotland’s most deprived communities are three times more likely to die by 25. Read Morgan’s story.

Morgan bravely shared her own story at an event in November. A number of guests commented on twitter how powerful Morgan had been including Aberlour’s Chief Executive SallyAnn Kelly saying she had been “marvellous”.

Morgan replied, “Well I have some pretty big shoes to fill, need to get practicing early to get to your position”, to which SallyAnn said she “should shadow her for a few days and see how you like the job!”.

“This week I am hoping to get an insight in what it’s like to be in SallyAnn’s shoes when it comes to the meetings, decisions and all that’s involved in her role at Aberlour” explains Morgan.

A National Child Protection Leadership Group meeting in Edinburgh and a More Than My Trauma Steering Group meeting are among the week’s meetings that Morgan will attend.

Morgan became the first in her family to attend university thanks to support from Aberlour and her sheer determination. She intends to help young people in similar situations to her to turn their lives around.
