Rebecca’s Story

Volunteer

Last year my dad had a heart attack and my world just stopped. Thankfully, he survived and recovered, but one of the first things he did when he got home from the hospital was to begin making sure his affairs were in order. He knew that sort of admin was the last thing we’d have wanted to think about should the worst have happened.

This experience reminded me of how fragile life is. I’m only in my mid-30s, but I realised that if anything were to happen to my husband and me, there was nothing in place to say what we’d want to happen to our baby and house.

We support Aberlour and found out recently that they offer a free will writing service in partnership with trusted solicitors.

It was really handy to use their solicitors’ free will writing service to make these provisions: the service was friendly, straightforward, and sensitive.

Making a donation to Aberlour after I’d made my will was a no brainer; I’d made plans for my own child’s future while making a positive difference for another child’s future.
